Low back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care. It can start after lifting, bending, twisting, sports, yard work, or a busy week at work. It can also build slowly over time from sitting, driving, repetitive strain, poor sleep positions, or changes in training.
At our clinic, we provide chiropractic assessment and treatment for low back pain in southwest Winnipeg and nearby communities such as Linden Woods, Linden Ridge, River Heights, Charleswood, Fort Garry, St. Norbert, Oak Bluff, La Salle, and Niverville.

Mechanical low back pain often relates to the joints, ligaments, muscles, and movement patterns of the lower back. It may feel stiff, sharp with certain movements, or worse after sitting, bending, lifting, or getting out of bed.
Some episodes of back pain are disc related. This can include pain in the low back itself or pain that spreads into the buttock or leg. A proper assessment helps determine whether your symptoms appear more disc related, joint related, or muscle related.
Muscle tension and soft tissue strain can lead to tightness, aching, spasm, or a pulling sensation in the low back. This may happen after overexertion, long periods of sitting, repetitive lifting, or poor recovery between activities.
Changes during pregnancy can place added strain on the low back, pelvis, and surrounding muscles, leading to aching, stiffness, tension, or a feeling of heaviness through the lower back. This may become more noticeable with longer periods of standing, walking, rolling in bed, lifting, or changes in posture as pregnancy progresses.

Your care always starts with a detailed history and physical exam to better understand your pain pattern, movement, and daily limitations.
Depending on your presentation, treatment may include:
