Even a relatively minor vehicle collision can leave you with neck pain, upper back pain, headaches, stiffness, low back pain, or soreness that becomes more noticeable over the next few days.
We provide assessment and chiropractic care for patients experiencing whiplash and accident-related musculoskeletal injuries in southwest Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

Whiplash commonly affects the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the neck, leading to pain, stiffness, reduced range of motion, or soreness with turning the head. Symptoms may become more noticeable after sitting, driving, sleeping, or trying to return to normal daily activity
Headaches after a motor vehicle accident often begin at the base of the skull and may spread into the temples, forehead, or behind the eyes. These symptoms can be related to irritation and tension through the neck and upper cervical region after a sudden acceleration-deceleration injury.
The force of a collision can also irritate the joints, muscles, and supporting tissues of the upper and mid-back. This may cause aching, tightness, stiffness, or sharp discomfort between the shoulder blades, especially with twisting, reaching, sitting, or deep breathing.
Motor vehicle accidents can also strain the muscles, joints, and supporting structures of the low back, leading to aching, stiffness, spasm, or pain with bending, lifting, sitting, or getting up from a chair. In some cases, low back symptoms may not appear immediately and can become more noticeable in the days after the accident.

No two injuries present exactly the same way. Some people mainly notice neck stiffness and headaches. Others feel pain through the upper back, shoulder blade region, or low back.

Your treatment plan is based on your symptoms, exam findings, and recovery goals.

After a collision, symptoms do not always peak right away. An assessment helps document what you are feeling, determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate, and guide the next steps in your recovery.
